The Doughdish is a fiberglass reproduction of the original Herreshoff 12 1/2 footer. It is constructed in foam sandwich fiberglass with teak trim. It is built to the exact hull dimensions and rig of the sloops designed by N. G. Herreshoff in 1914. As a result they are able to compete against the wooden boats in class races and regattas.
It is a comfortable and easy daysailer, and a wonderful boat for teaching someone to sail.
Doughdish No. 158 was built by Edey and Duff of Mattapoisett, MA in 1983. She is in solid condition, but would benefit from some cosmetic attention. She has a few spots of gelcoat damage on her topsides and minimal blistering along her waterline. The varnish is also damaged and broken down in areas, but all parts of the teak will be able to be refreshed with some elbow grease, it does not need carpentry. There are missing covering boards on her cockpit sole. All work could be done by a handy owner or capable boatyard and this boat could be brought back to excellent condition.
The sale includes: recent sails (main and jib) and storage cradle.
