New Triad trailer
The Doughdish is a fiberglass reproduction of the original Herreshoff 12 1/2 footer. It is constructed in foam sandwich fiberglass with teak trim. It is built to the exact hull dimensions and rig of the sloops designed by N. G. Herreshoff in 1914. As a result they are able to compete against the wooden boats in class races and regattas.
It is a comfortable and easy daysailer, and a wonderful boat for teaching someone to sail.
Doughdish No. 51 was built by Edey and Duff of Mattapoisett, MA in 1977. As one of the early boats, she has had decades of sailing around Buzzards Bay. Taken as a trade in, Doughdish 51 is completing a thorough restoration and Ballentine's will be offering her as a certified pre-owned package.
This package offers a buyer an immaculate Doughdish - at a dramatic discount from the cost of new- and customized as their ideal boat. Work to be completed includes: all brightwork re-finished, trim and spars; new teak cockpit sole; Awl-Grip painted topsides; stripped and faired bottom and new standing and running rigging. Sails and covers are in good condition. The package also includes a new Triad trailer.
A finished boat could be delivered by mid August.
