The Doughdish is a fiberglass reproduction of the original Herreshoff 12 1/2 footer. It is constructed in foam sandwich fiberglass with teak trim. It is built to the exact hull dimensions and rig of the sloops designed by N. G. Herreshoff in 1914. As a result they are able to compete against the wooden boats in class races and regattas.
It is a comfortable and easy daysailer, and a wonderful boat for teaching someone to sail.
Doughdish No. 375 was built by Edey and Duff of Mattapoisett, MA in 1996 with a few nice upgrades and additions. She is in solid condition, but would benefit from cosmetic attention. Suggested projects would include to strip and re-finish brightwork and a hard sanding of the bottom and recoating.
The sale includes: Main and jib in serviceable condition; New Torqeedo electric motor and streamlined mounting system; spinnaker; mainsail cover, jib cover, and brand new cockpit cover; and a very good Triad trailer.
