The Doughdish is a fiberglass reproduction of the original Herreshoff 12 1/2 footer. It is constructed in foam sandwich fiberglass with teak trim. It is built to the exact hull dimensions and rig of the sloops designed by N. G. Herreshoff in 1914. As a result they are able to compete against the wooden boats in class races and regattas.
It is a comfortable and easy daysailer, and a wonderful boat for teaching someone to sail.
Doughdish No. 319, CHATTERBOX was built by Edey and Duff of Mattapoisett, MA in 1993. Originally sailed on Cape Cod, CHATTERBOX has spent the last 15 years sailing in Maine. Her bright work has been varnished annually and the boat is well kept and stored indoors.
The sale includes: Two sets of sails - main and jib - in serviceable condition; cockpit cover and jib cover; motor mount (but no motor) and older painted trailer in good working condition.
