Doughdish # 148 was taken in on trade towards a brand new boat and immediately went in the shop for a restoration.

All of the spruce spars have been stripped and refinished with multiple building coats of Epiphanes varnish.

Her brightwork on the boat has been stripped and refinished. The hardware has been removed and will all be re-bedded after the brightwork is complete.

Her deck has been faired and AwlGriped with nonskid.

She received a new teak cockpit sole.

Her hull has been sanded, faired, barrier coated and primed. Her new owner has the choice of colors (AwlGrip), which is included in the price. See some of the Doughdish color scheme possibilities!

She is equipped with a Basic Float off Triad Trailer, with an extendable tongue to enable the trailer to reach further into the water.

Auxiliary power is provided via Ballentine’s Boat Shop Streamlined configuration of the popular Torqeedo electric outboard. The motor can be easily set in place when needed and then removed to be conveniently stored in our under seat storage system. The remote throttle beneath the deck controls the speed and direction of the motor and the battery is stowed in the aft deck storage compartment.

This Doughdish is well equipped and in like-new condition at $20,000+ less than a new boat.

The Doughdish is a fiberglass reproduction of the original Herreshoff 12 1/2 footer. It is constructed in foam sandwich fiberglass with teak trim. It is built to the exact hull dimensions and rig of the sloops designed by N. G. Herreshoff in 1914. As a result they are able to compete against the wooden boats in class races and regattas.

She is currently located at Ballentine's Boat Shop in Cataumet, MA, and available to be seen by appointment. Please contact Amy or Matt via Email for more information about this listing or to schedule an appointment for viewing. Or call for Amy or Matt at 508-563-2800.
