The Doughdish is a fiberglass reproduction of the original Herreshoff 12 1/2 footer. It is constructed in foam sandwich fiberglass with teak trim. It is built to the exact hull dimensions and rig of the sloops designed by N. G. Herreshoff in 1914. As a result they are able to compete against the wooden boats in class races and regattas.
It is a comfortable and easy daysailer, and a wonderful boat for teaching someone to sail.
Doughdish No. 435 was built by Edey and Duff of Mattapoisett, MA in 2000. TEACHER'S PET is in great condition and after yearly maintenance and a little extra attention to her bottom, she would be in excellent condition. The sale also includes a custom float-off trailer and winter cover for safe storage in the off season.
